- U.S. lmports: According to the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufactures of America and the American Chemistry Council, in 2024 the U.S. imported an estimated $200 billion of pharmaceutical, health and chemical products to include prescription medications, over the counter products, biopharmaceuticals, and chemical compounds.
- Harmonized Tariff Schedule: ‘‘Pharmaceuticals’’ to consist of merchandise classified under headings 2936, 2937, 2939, 2941, 3001 through 3006, HTSUS. ‘‘Health equipment’’ to consist of merchandise classified under headings 4014, 9018, 9019, 9021, 9022, and 9402, HTSUS. And, ‘Chemicals’’ to consist of merchandise classified under headings 2801 through 2935, 2938, 2940, 2942, 3101 through 3302, 3402 through 3405, 3407 through 3604, 3606, through 3817, and 3819 through 3825, HTSUS.
